About Me

I am a married mother of two georgeous boys. My first was born in May 2005 and my youngest in October 2007. After experiencing an emergency caesarean section for my first and then a wonderful home water birth with my second, I have first hand experience of the benefit of having a midwife that you know and trust and how that this can empower you to have an amazing birthing experience.

l am a midwife with experience of working within the NHS and the private sector. Before becoming a midwife I worked as a registered general nurse for over 7 years.

I qualified as a midwife in Coventry in 1996, where I worked for 3 years before coming to London. I was employed as a caseload midwife in Greenwich where I performed water births and home births. January 2001 I have worked at a wonderful Private Birth Unit in St Johns Wood. Since January 2010 I have secured flexible annualised hours at Kings College Hospital.

As an accredited Lactation Consultant I can help with breastfeeding. I am also a Reiki practitioner and use Shiatsu techniques to help mothers throughout their pregnancy, labour and delivery. I use homeopathic and herbal remedies to help the timely progression of labour.

I enjoy teaching and have successfully set up and ran for over five years preparation for birth classes in Banks. I run very informative group preparation for birth classes or if you would like one to one sessions made to meet your specific needs. I teach Basic First Aid and Resucitation for babies, also Baby Massage. I am a HypnoBirthing Practitoner, and teach regualar classes.
